We Successfully Reached Our Goal

Our next endeavor -- a look at how the coordinated care model is heading into the private sector -- a December 3rd breakfast forum you won’t want to miss!
November 6, 2015

You – our generous readers – made it happen, and we are so very grateful for your enduring support.

Yes, we met our $31,000 challenge grant, and will remain steadfast as the only independent news site in Oregon – free of advertisements – that goes behind the scenes and tells the truth about the healthcare industry.

Thanks for believing in what we do!

And, don’t forget that you can share your story ideas – confidentially if you prefer – by sending a note to us at [email protected].

We’re also pleased to announce the winners who participated in our recent survey, which we conducted to help us improve our work. Congratulations to Kathy Schwab, Heather Brown and Dr. James Asaph.

Breakfast forum underway

What’s next? A jointly sponsored breakfast forum with Oregon Business Magazine that’s taking a deep dive into how the coordinated care model could transform the delivery of care in the private marketplace.

We’ve assembled a team of experts that include Tami Graham, director of global benefits strategy at Intel and Sean Jessup, director of Medicaid programs at Moda Health.

Also appearing on stage will be Lynne Saxton, director of the Oregon Healthj Authority; Dr. Craig Fausel, CEO and president of The Oregon Clinic and Janet Meyer, CEO of Health Share of Oregon.

Register today. And, if you’re interested in sponsorship opportunities, contact Janet Grubel, our development director at [email protected]

This event, to be held at the Multnomah Athletic Club, gets underway December 3rd at 7 a.m.

Our panel of thought leaders will look into these compelling questions:

  • Should employers follow the lead of the Medicaid coordinated care organizations by transforming health care?
  • Which insurers are likely to draw the majority of small employers on the exchange? Will tax credits entice employers to purchase coverage?
  • How are physicians shifting their practices to respond to this changing model?
  • What strategies and solutions can help you reduce costs and improve the quality of health care for your employees?
