PORTLAND, OR (Oct 4, 2016) – NARAL Pro-Choice Oregon announced today it is endorsing Governor Kate Brown in the race for the Oregon Governor’s Office.

NARAL has done outstanding work to educate communities, legislators and voters about the importance of reproductive choice, and helped protect access to safe, legal abortions without restrictions. I look forward to continuing to serve as Oregon’s governor and as an advocate for women in our state.”

Governor Brown has provided emphatic leadership promoting women’s health throughout her career in public office. Most recently, she signed a bill allowing women to obtain birth control prescriptions from a pharmacist and receive up to a 12 month supply at a time. Her steadfast leadership has helped prevent many restrictive abortion laws from passing in Oregon, while she diligently continues to advocate for contraceptive equity and age-appropriate health and sex education.
