September 9, 2016

PORTLAND, Ore. (Sept. 9, 2016) – On Friday morning of September 30th, NARAL Pro-Choice Oregon is celebrating choice at the largest political event of the year. The 2016 Annual Choice Luncheon at Sentinel hotel in downtown Portland will feature NARAL America President, Ilyse Hogue, as keynote speaker during the most monumental election year.

“Ilyse Hogue is exactly the kind of dynamic political leader we most need at a time when the assaults on women’s reproductive freedom have never been more aggressive.” said NARAL Pro-Choice Oregon Executive Director, Michele Stranger-Hunter. “She brings a genuine understanding of Oregon and the unique role our state has to play in ensuring our country’s policies can align with the wishes of the vast majority of Americans who believe a woman's choice to be pregnant is a deeply personal one. Ilyse is an inspiring speaker and I know you will leave our luncheon not only encouraged but energized!”

In July, Ilyse Hogue made history as the first known woman to share a personal story about having an abortion her abortion story at the Democratic National Convention. You can watch her speech, here: http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2016/07/naral-ilyse-hogue-dnc-abortion

NARAL Pro-Choice Oregon (NPCO) is dedicated to developing and sustaining a constituency that uses the political process to guarantee every woman the right to make personal decisions regarding the full range of reproductive choices, including preventing unintended pregnancy, bearing healthy children, and choosing legal abortion.
