We are proud to announce that Scott Eads has joined Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt as a shareholder in the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group in the Portland, Oregon, office.
Scott is an intellectual property litigator with more than two decades of experience litigating patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret and unfair competition cases. Scott has handled patent infringement cases across a wide range of technologies, including Hatch-Waxman generic drugs, genetic engineering, biotechnology, Internet software, semiconductors, computer hardware and mechanical technologies. Scott has played a leading role in precedent-setting cases of national significance.
Chambers USA has recognized Scott as a top ranked attorney for intellectual property law in Oregon, indicating that peers consider Scott “a strong litigator” and “a true IP lawyer.” He is lauded for his abilities in patent infringement cases. He is also recognized on “The World's Leading Patent Practitioners” list in Intellectual Asset Management Patent 1000.
Prior to joining Schwabe, Scott was a Partner with Perkins Coie. He has served as President and as a board member of the Portland Parks Tennis Association. Scott received his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law, his M.S. in Molecular Biology from Portland State University, and his B.S. in Biology, summa cum laude, from Tennessee Tech University.
Outside of practicing law, Scott is a tennis enthusiast who also enjoys hiking, camping and spending time with his wife and three daughters.
