What needs to happen to fix Oregon’s addiction services system and develop a coherent public policy approach?
That’s the topic for our next breakfast forum on Wednesday, Nov. 15 at the Multnomah Athletic Club. Breakfast will be served at 7 a.m. followed by a panel discussion from 7:30-9 a.m.
Our panelists include:
- Former Governor John Kitzhaber
- Mike Marshall, Co-Founder and Director, Oregon Recovery
- Dr. Rachel Solotaroff, CEO, Central City Concern, and
- Maree Wacker, CEO, DePaul Treatment Center.
Our moderator will be Judge Eric Bloch, who chairs Oregon’s Alcohol & Drug Policy Commission.
Addiction costs Oregon taxpayers more than $6 billion annually. Less than 20 percent of Oregon Health Authority’s budget is appropriated for addiction treatment (prevention, treatment and recovery programs). This panel will examine the scope of the problem and the current state of treatment from the standpoint of the addict, the treatment provider and the need for a coherent public policy approach.
This is a breakfast forum you definitely won’t want to miss!
